Water tower in Olkusz

The water tower located in the former grounds of the Olkusz enamelled plate  factory, is a building so permanently inscribed into the local landscape, that hardly anyone pays attention to it.  It was probably built in the 1920's. It received water from the water intake in Witeradów. It was in use, as indicated by the former employees of the factory, even in the late 60's. Tall- consisting of a six-level,  reinforced concrete base and an octagonal concrete tank – it is probably about 35-40m in height. It is a typically utilitarian object.
