While in Ściborzyce, it is worth seeing one natural feature – namely the Jordana Spring. Characteristic of the Polish Jurassic Upland, it is a rheocrene spring, i.e. a type of spring, flowing directly out of the ground, at the base of a limestone rock The aquifer layer here is formed by the cretaceous formations and Jurassic limestones. With each second, ca. 20-30 litres of water spurt out, thus feeding the Dłubnia river. The characteristic throbbing of the silt may be observed at the spring bottom. Though the spring is ca. 3 metres deep, one can easily observe the effective flow, thanks to its clear, transparent waters. The spring never freezes solid and its year-round temperature never exceeds 10 deg. Celsius. The spring water was once believed to have medicinal effects, especially in eye diseases.
